Project Description

More than 100,000 enthusiastic fans watched the six days of the 2011 Biathlon World Cup event at Ruhpolding’s new Chiemgau Arena.

For the Biathlon World Cup 2011 in January in Ruhpolding, Germany, Röder erected a tent landscape for sports hospitality. Several big tents and party tents were used to create an impressive ambience.

A two-story Röder Solution High end 30 × 60m tent was used as the main VIP tent during the World Cup and offered refuge for up to 1,700 guests each day. The tent is 80 percent glass façade, which provided VIP guests with an outstanding view of the sporting events on the starting straight, the shooting gallery and the Omega penalty track. First-rate facilities, with kitchens on both floors, a crèche and four sponsor areas provided superlative comfort. Furthermore, the VIP tent was linked to the new main stand. The cubic tent complex blended excellently into the overall appearance of the new arena.

The large 15 × 20m tent, with its solid façade, was available to athletes as a “family tent” and was equipped with a kitchen, Internet access for family contact as well as separate rooms for the crews.

In the entrance area, a two-story 5 × 40m tent with four entrance points and ten 4 × 4m party tents and a 5 × 5m Highlight were used as entrance checkpoints and for accreditation purposes.

Despite extreme weather conditions, erecting the Röder tent landscape took just four weeks and the result was quite a spectacle. The clients, the guests and fans have been very impressed with the attractive tent systems.
